WORKOUT 2 — S B R 0
The ride on Interurban/Goward to the dirt on Meadowbrook was 30 minutes, roughly the same time on asphalt as Highland Road up to the north end of Thetis Lake Park.
Executive West heading up hill had me blown up; too heavy/lack of fitness.
Did ok on the blue trails: Shock Treatment, Fire Drill, Ruffles.
The black trail, Organ Doner had me walking and turned around. Musty Knuckle was an unmarked blue trail that took me back to a fire road.
Back on blue with Crossover becoming Botton Feeder for a climb up. Had a minor fall on what should have been an easy-ish switchback. I realized at that point I had not hit the sugar bottle yet. Problem solved.
More blue trails for the trip downslope, Fun Trail (as the name suggests), staying in the park on Say Ah!. Ended up on a trail that my head unit said was Madonna (it wasn't) and I walked some challenging sections.
One Less Car to the lower bit of Shock Treatment was cleaned too.
I explored an unsanctioned trail off Executive West and crashed. Bruised left bicep and left calf. I picked myself up, pedalled back to the proper trail and headed home.
Good stimulus in the legs, got to pay attention to effort levels on the blue trails and found a fitness limit too.
Still would like to improve.
